Experience the Legacy and Thrill of Whitetail Deer Hunting

Welcome to Lost Quarter Farm, where we offer an exceptional hunting experience focused on whitetail deer. Founded in 1929, Lost Quarter Farm is the oldest hunting lodge in the area, welcoming hunters for nearly a century. Located just 2¾ miles west of Mendon, Missouri, our farm spans 85 acres of prime hunting ground, bordered by the Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge and with Yellow Creek flowing through the deer territory, creating an ideal environment for wildlife and breathtaking scenery.

For the dedicated deer hunting enthusiast, our property features eight raised stands, including three enclosed blinds and a two-level tower blind with panoramic views. All blinds have the option of being heated for your comfort. We welcome rifle-only hunts during October and November, with all hunts available by reservation only.

Lost Quarter Farm is more than a premier hunting destination—it’s a sanctuary where you can unplug from the demands of modern life and reconnect with nature.

Historic Comfort and Genuine Hospitality at the Lost Quarter Lodge

Between hunts, relax in our welcoming lodge, where history blends seamlessly with warm hospitality. Since 1980, Ann Welsh has proudly owned the lodge, upholding its rich traditions and making every guest feel at home—preparing meals, packing lunches, and going above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable stay. The lodge itself has a fascinating history: It was featured in the 1936 film The Voice of Bugle Ann, starring Lionel Barrymore and Maureen O’Sullivan, and even hosted President Harry S. Truman on a hunting trip.

Our cozy, four-bedroom lodge provides a comfortable retreat, with six beds to accommodate guests between hunting excursions.
